Duck & Waffle

5th August 2017 by emily

Serving from sunrise to sunset and 40 floors up, Duck & Waffle  in the Heron Tower is an incredible dining experience. We ended up here after a brilliant night out at Koko in Camden, another iconic London night spot that needs a post entirely to itself.

The crazy thing about Duck & Waffle is that no matter what time you go, you’ll find a queue of people waiting to board the private glass lift that whizzes you skywards to the restaurant in just 40 seconds. We arrived close to 4:30am and with the light just beginning to change in the sky, it was the perfect time to eat and watch the sunrise. Don’t get me wrong, we’re not out that late every Saturday night, but if there is a chance that you get to see the sun come up over London from a height, it really is something special.

The mix of  people at this time is also something to see, large, gregarious groups of friends continuing their night out with cocktails and fun, couples huddled close together over tables and others simply stunned into silence (or tiredness!) by the 360 degree view of the city.

We were so lucky and got a table by the window. We took advantage of the Late Night Menu and ordered the classic confit duck leg, fried duck egg and mustard maple syrup and waffle and followed it with a Kir Royale cocktail and strong coffee. It was absolutely delicious and a really special night.

Get booking soon, or like us, go at a time that is completely crazy but in the grand scheme of things – so worth it for the experience.
