Rapperswil-Jona, also known as town of roses is a must-see if you’re looking for a trip within easy reach of Zurich. It’s the perfect place to take in the very best of Switzerland’s natural beauty and architecture.
Medieval gems
Walk along the cobbled streets of the old town and you’ll feel like you’re stepping back in time. Rapperswil is called town of roses because of the 16,000 fragrant blooms that fill the rose gardens of the Capuchin monastery. A flower lovers dream!
Rapperswil castle
The views from the castle are breathtaking. Imposing mountains on one side and the lake stretching into the distance on the other. We saw a very small wedding group at the castle. A glimpse of normal life returning and what a beautiful place for a wedding!
The perfect afternoon
I’d love to come back here when restrictions are lifted. Until then, I’ll be daydreaming of sitting in one of the medieval squares having a glass of wine or with a picnic by the lake. Happy exploring and stay safe! x
