I was named after Emily Dickinson and she’s a poet that brings me so much comfort and happiness. This quote has come to mind so much over the last few weeks. I treasure it and my mum brought it back from The Dickinson Homestead in Amherst College. It was a dream come true for her to go there with my Dad. It’s just perfect to read at the moment when time in definitely in flux!
I clear my head when I’m out running and I have a route behind where we live that winds past a vineyard. One of my favourite things is to watch the buds and new life coming into the vines. In a way, this perfectly links to Emily Dickinson’s writing. Her words are about life’s brevity and human potential. There may be a global pandemic affecting everyone’s life right now but nature goes on. It’s relentless. Time passes. There’s comfort in that.
Here’s how this beautiful vineyard has evolved since we arrived. Like we all have.
