We got married in Quinta dos Vales wine estate in Estombar Portugal back in 2018. Now, anytime I see a vineyard it stops me in my tracks and I’m transported back to that day. The warmth of the sun on my shoulders as we exchanged our vows. The celebrations and toasts with family and friends and photographs among the vines at dusk. It was such a special and happy day. That’s why when I was out running, I was so happy to stumble across this beautiful vineyard. I always find the natural order and vivid colours so stunning.
A sign gave details on Landolt Weine, a business founded in 1834 and now in its sixth generation of production. Today, two vintners produce grapes on over 12 hectares of vines in the city and in the canton of Zurich, as well as in the Thur Valley. I’m so happy my run took me along this route and I’ll definitely take a look at their website to explore the fantastic selection of wines. How nice to support local wine production too.
