I’ve been drawn to artist Kitty Valentine, a.k.a. foxglovepearly’s work every time that I’ve visited Brick Lane market. With a stall in the markets for more than four years, Kitty’s work has made an indelible mark. I’m a magnet to ram heads, bone, texture and the dark sides of natural form in fashion and art. I love the juxtaposition of her intricate drawings against straight laced English and European cabinet photographs from the Victorian era.
This photographic print is part of the Victorian mischief series of photographs and lithographs, cartes de visite and Edwardian French postcards. I can’t wait to add to my collection.
