Ask any of family and friends and they’ll say that one of the places that I’m at my happiest is on the top deck of a hop-on hop-off tour bus. There’s no two ways about it, I absolutely love sightseeing!
That’s why, during this period of social distancing and more time at home, I’m making a list of places that I can’t wait to see in Zurich. First on my list is Le Corbusier House in Seefeld. I’ve jogged past it a few times and the first thing that struck me was that the colours were like a fusion of a Rubik’s Cube and a Miro paining! It’s an architectural jewel right on my doorstep.
A quick Google has told me that it’s the last work by the famous architect, Le Corbusier and entirely made of glass and steel in 1967. The building is now a museum and walk-through sculpture. It also has exhibitions on the life and work of the great Swiss-French architect. How amazing to find this out.
The really cool thing is that you can take a virtual tour, but I’m going to hold off for now and wait until I can get inside this fantastic statement in architecture sometime soon.
It’s lovely to have things to look forward to!
