Long live the chickpea!

22nd November 2015 by emily

If like me you love hummus, head straight for Hummus Bros on Wardour Street in Soho. The restaurant pays homage to this humble legume and the food is reasonable, quick and really delicious! Opened in 2005, this restaurant has been producing home-made quality produce and meals effortlessly and that’s why it’s one of the busiest spots on this very foodie West End street. You can’t make a reservation at Hummus Bros so roll on up and you shouldn’t be left waiting too long. There are lots of tables and side bench seats inside to create a buzzy, warm atmosphere.

What are we having?

One thing that I love almost as much as hummus is avocado and I was delighted to see a dish that combined these two great flavour combinations. I went for chicken sautéed in a light tomato sauce, ripe avocado mixed with red peppers, tomatoes & red onions. Add a generous Greek salad and warm breads and I was in carb induced heaven. My food buddy went for chicken and falafel balls with cabbage and tomato and coriander salsa and tzatziki. We couldn’t finish our meals which shows how generous the portions are and it felt like really fresh, healthy produce. This is a real value for money restaurant and instead of going to bigger chains, give this place a go. We didn’t regret it.
