Anyone who knows me, knows that I love Paul Smith so news that a new concession is now open in the basement of Dover Street Market’s new Haymarket location is music to my ears!
Sir Paul is a magpie of beautiful and interesting finds, as well as designing gorgeous collections and I love that you can buy everything in the 3×3 metre space. Why such a small concession for such a big name? The size relates to the space of Paul’s first shop in Nottingham which opened in 1970. The items in store give a snapshot into what inspires Paul and are picked up from his travels and amassed over the years. The other nice touch is that the items will change within the concession’s space, so it means you can pick-up anything from books, cycling caps, framed prints to trinkets and clothing and layout can changes easily to fit whatever is inside.
The store itself is a wonderful mix-up of brands and items and the whole layout of the shop ties in so well with this changing space and concept. It’s another facet to merchandising and displaying product. DSM actually left its old home due to a lack of space so now shoppers have more room to browse and buy. I can’t wait to stop by and see it for myself.
