I had to hear more about Wildflower Favours so spoke to the founder Teresa Sinclair to hear about her passion for design, wildflowers and protecting our bee population.
How did the idea come about for your business?
I had a wildflower nursery and while looking for some seeds online, I came across the idea of wedding favours. I had never heard of such a thing before! These favours were seed packets and that gave me the idea to try my own designs.
Do you make the product on site?
Yes, all packets are printed and filled on site. Some packets we cut and stick as well and most plantable shapes are also cut on site.
98% of Britain’s wildflower meadows have disappeared. Do you think it’s important for people to be aware of this worrying statistic?
Having the wildflower nursery has made me rather enthusiastic about our native wildflowers and the wildlife they support! Wildflower Favours is another way for me to preach my message. Wedding favours reach thousands of people and are a great way to spread the word. Many people may never have thought of growing wildflowers until they receive their favour. I hope that once they have the actual flowers in their gardens and see the butterflies and bees on them, they will be encouraged to grow more.
Personalisation is a lovely idea. Have you had any unusual requests?
I don’t think I have actually but we do provide favours for funerals, parties, christenings, and promotional events.
What is your best selling product?
Seed packets are by far the best selling product. The most popular of these packets are the birds on bunting, the Grow Some Love Packet and the bee and butterfly seed packets.
