I heart the Design Musuem

12th August 2015 by emily

Wow, what a great place to lose a few hours. This space is somewhere I can see myself coming back to again and again and I know that I’m going to leave having learned something new or looked at something in a different way. It also has a brilliant selection of fashion books and quirky gifts. The views of the river from the cafe make it a great pit stop and recharge point in between exhibitions or just to simply come and chill.

The walk to the museum is one of my favourites in the whole of the city. Amble down from London Bridge station and pass the immense Tower Bridge that’s always thronged with city folk and tourists. For me, the best part is winding your way down the riverside to Shad Thames. Cafés jostle among restaurants, bars, shops and fellow explorers.

It’s a part of the city I’m growing really fond of and I can’t wait to go back and hit the textile and fashion musuem, Ropewalk Market in nearby Bermondsey and see what other finds are in the area.
