Refuel at the Soho Hotel

Refuel Bar at the Soho Hotel is my refuge in buzzing Soho. I was first introduced to it when I attended a fabulous blogger workshop run by the beautiful and inspiring Antonia Mariconda last year. I loved the vibe of the hotel.

The décor throughout the hotel is gorgeous – think plush chairs, clashing patterns and prints, tables packed with toy cars and vibrant colours. This might make it sound loud and brash but this couldn’t be further from the truth. The atmosphere is relaxed and doesn’t try too hard. It’s private and chic, without being pretentious.

I brought my sister Louise for a drink and she loved it as much as I did. Who was sitting in the corner enjoying a drink near us? The actress Robin Wright and her husband, Ben Foster. The boxer Ricky Hatten was also sitting a few tables away enjoying a catch-up with a friend. I think one of the reasons that celebs are often in this hotel is because they can enjoy a drink undisturbed and stay low-key. I am a huge House of Cards fan so to see Claire Underwood, aka Robin sitting so close by did make me do a little whoop for joy! She’s as beautiful and fine boned as you would imagine in person.

Cocktail O’ Clock

When it comes to a drink at Refuel, I recommend the Porn Star Martini. This cocktail is absolutely delicious if you have a sweet tooth with passoa, passion fruit liquer and purée, vanilla sugar, vodka and a shot of champagne. I had my first one almost two years ago with a group of fabulous ladies who I met during a Cool Hunting course at UAL and it has become our go-to cocktail venue ever since.

Next time you’re around Soho, stop by this hotel and make sure that you have a wander around. The hotel also has a cinema and who knows what celeb you might see!
