When a burger met a lobster

22nd January 2015 by emily

I did have to engage in a little mental detachment and not think that I was about to eat Sebastian or one of his buddies when I ordered chargrilled lobster at Burger and Lobster, Mayfair.

We had an early sitting and dropped by around 5:30pm. Friends had warned me of lines that stretch out the door in the late evening as no reservations are allowed. Moral of story, be happy to wait and chill out with a drink or go early and beat the crowds.

An outlay of £20pp gets you a fairly hefty portion of meat and we opted for sides of fries and salad. You can have your lobster steamed, chargrilled or alternatively on a roll. My partner in lobster crime went steamed. The garlic sauce to drizzle was the perfect accompaniment, the meat melt in your mouth delicious. Mmm I’m having flashbacks…

A first-timer to the whole shebang of breaking apart claws and shell with a cracker and fork, it did involve a bit of wrestling and digging on my part but that’s all part of the fun really!

You’ve read the title-burgers are on the menu for £20 and they did look rather tasty but with burger restaurants ten-a-penny in London, it’s lobster hands down in my book.

Oh and the clincher is the little plastic bib that they give you to protect your threads, loved that touch.
